Neon Done 18 Ways

Monday, 2 April 2012

The fashion fads of the '80s had highs and lows. High: Slouchy sweaters, leggings, and bangles. Low: Fingerless gloves, acid-washed denim, and spandex. So every time another '80s throwback rears its head in the fashion world, we wait anxiously to see which way it'll fall. Luckily, the newest '80s-inspired craze -- and this spring's hottest new trend -- is not just good; it's amazing. It's NEON.

While I'm digging everything neon out of my wardrobe, I know that it can be a little scary. A head-to-toe look requires a good amount of bravery. But you don't need to don a hot pink floor-length gown to show off your love of this trend (though a hot pink floor-length gown would be ah-mazing.) Instead, you can play with little pops of neon, which even in small doses definitely makes an impact.
So here are a few ways of wearing neon in the best ways:

No. 1

... with a pink lip and non-matching nails

No. 2

... with an armful of handmade friendship bracelets

No. 3

... with Louboutin-inspired heels

No. 4

... with a designer clutch

No. 5

... with a touch of nail art

No. 6

... with funky tipped sunglasses and translucent hoops

No. 7

... with bold tights -- and don't forget the leopard print!

No. 8

... with a thick line on your lids

No. 9

... with a bit of splatter

No. 10

... with a bold orange lip

No. 11

... with an intricate weave

No. 12

... with an infinity scarf

No. 13

... with a painted wooden bangle

No. 14

... with a messenger bag

No. 15

... with a felted statement necklace

No. 16

... with a suede clutch

No. 17

... with a touch of lace

No. 18

... with menswear-inspired shoes

These are just a few ideas to keep your neon wearing as low key and easy to wear as possible.  It is an amazing trend and colour is truly back in the limelight!

Hope you had a great time this weekend ;)

    1. You are so right Char! The tan is what it is all about with neon. Better go work on my milk bottle legs :)
