MatsiMela Home Spa

One of my favourite little pleasures in life is to spoil myself.  The spoiling can be done at a spa or beauty parlour, but most often I love pampering myself at home.

My pamper sessions include manicures, pedicures, headily scented baths with lovely candles throwing light across a dancing platformed ceiling and soooo much more!  So imagine my surprise when I ambled across the most amazing shop in South Africa ever!

 
MatsiMela Home Spa is a wonderful shop that has a real African feel and smells just as beautiful. It is located at the Clearwater Mall in Gauteng, but has branches in Fourways and Bedfordview.  They also have various spas that use their products, with full listings available on their website.  The staff are absolutely super friendly and cannot be faulted for their professional and wonderful service.  I enjoyed the shop from the very moment that I stepped in there.

I found the products to be innovative and very different from the usual bathing products that are normally found in beauty shops.  A few of the items that they sell include body scrubs, body butters, bath salts, soaps and bath ballistics (or fizz balls) and there are various fabulous combinations of products used for each individuals tastes!

The whole MatsiMela body care range was inspired by mother-nature and the fine botanical ingredients indigenous to Africa.  And the best part is that the MatsiMela team actually support upliftment projects within Southern Africa, which is very exciting!  Their range includes Baobab, Marula Nut, Papaya, Red Berry, Rooibos and Honey, Sandalwood and finally Litchi and Rose.  Each of these ranges have been thoughtfully created and have a unique and beautiful smell.  My favourites include the Rooibos and Honey as well as the Sandalwood.  These products also make a lovely gift, and the MatsiMela team ensure that any product is wrapped and packaged in the most special way possibly with most of their packaging being minimalistic and as environmentally friendly as possible.

All their products are very reasonably priced.  I bought a set of a body scrub, bath soak, 2 bath ballistics, a body butter and a soap and the total price for the package was R209, or approximately £19.  This is an excellent price considering the prices that the Bodyshop and even Lush charges for some of their products.  The body butter can even rival some of the products that the Bodyshop offers!

My ultimate favourite products include the Honey and Rooibos body butter and the sandalwood bath ballistic (it is very relaxing).  I cannot recommend this shop any more than it being super duper uber lovely!  It is a true haven for any man, woman or alien who wants to just relax and enjoy the products.
