Oscars!!

 
Michelle Williams wowed in this coral (or was it pomegranate?) strapless Louis Vuitton tiered dress, while Natalie Portman's opted for vintage glamour with a polka-dot-red vintage Haute Couture Christian Dior gown from 1954.

Winner: We can't get enough of Michelle Williams' effortless glamour.

 
Vintage was a feature on the red carpet this year. Angelina Jolie was predictable but sexy in a thigh-high split black velvet Atelier Versace gown, while Kelly Osbourne's overdone make-up was too much for her old school look.
Winner: Angelina Jolie retains her title as reigning queen of the black gown.

 

Meryl Streep looked radiant in this figure-flattering wrap around gold metallic dress, but Stacey Keibler's oversized rose hip detailing was too over-the-top. While Shaun Robinson's gown shows off her tight and toned figure, the metallic sheen was a little cheap looking.

Winner: Iron lady Meryl Streep gets the gold from us!
 

 
Jessica Chastain, Judy Greer and Ellie Kemper all looked effortlessly cool in their metallic gowns, but Jessica Chastain gets our vote with her embellished Alexander McQueen dress with flowing chiffon train.

Winner: Jessica Chastain is a vision.

 
Pastel shades are HOT this spring and Hollywood newcomer Berenice Bejo (star of The Artist) showed us how it's done in her gorgeous pale green full-sleeved gown, while Maria Menounos opted for a flowing aqua marine ball gown.

Winner: Maria Menounos is the apple of our eye.

 

Dark-haired beauty Milla Jovovich positively smouldered in her encrusted white one-shoulder Elie Saab gown with a dramatic slash of red lipstick. A jewellery-free Rooney Mara looked immaculate but her tiny frame was swamped by her Givenchy gown. Kelly Ripa's halterneck looked a little ill-fitting and is reminiscent of centre-court Wimbledon.

Winner: Milla Jovovich wins - game, set and match.

 

Full marks to Emma Stone for taking a giant, bow-shaped risk with her Giambattista Valli dress. Not so many marks to Jane Seymour, while the colour was bang on trend, the cut looked a little bit like an 80s throwback.

Winner: Emma Stone has this one all tied up.

 

Virginia Madsen and Missi Pyle opted for bright, spring block colours to make their entrance. Virginia's majestic purple gown was bold and regal, while Missi's eco-friendly gown by Valentina Delfino is made from recycled fabric and zippers.

Winner: Full marks to Missi Pyle for her eco-friendly dress, great colour too.

Grape purple was the royal colour of choice for red carpet queens Maya Rudolph, Sarah Hyland and Penelope Cruze. But Penelope Cruz might have taken old-school glamour a touch too far with her retro hair AND necklace AND clutch, while Maya Rudolph's entire look, including hair and make-up was retro with a contemporary twist.

Winner: Maya Rudolph is reigning queen of the purple gown.
