Good morning lovelies!
This past weekend was so much fun! Saturday I managed to spend the whole day with my gorgeous husband in Solihull and we loved having yummy food and doing loads of shopping! My husband and me have been enjoying every single second together over the weekends, because we've felt that it should be time that we can cherish and enjoy and be silly in.
So here is my little picture collage:
1) Firstly I took a silly little picture of my husband at Druckers Cafe in Touchwood, Solihull. He is so cute! I'm not sure what was happening to his hair, straight after I took this picture, I decided to "comb" it - he was less than pleased! >hehe<
2) I sneaked into John Lewis and managed to drool over some of the gorgeous Kitchenaid Mixers that they had in their. My favourite colour for the mixer is cool blue and Pistachio! These mixers are seriously my biggest dream...
3) I snapped a quick picture of the gorgeous blue sky just outside of Touchwood (the mall) in Solihull. It was quite a chilly day, but I think it was the most beautiful day.
4) Yummy delicious cheese and ham panini with a great side salad. This wasn't exactly Slimming World approved food, but hot damn it was delicious! These have become my recent guilty pleasure whenever I go out for lunch!
5) Cheeky latte, such a nice little treat whenever it is very cold outside. It warmed me up quicker than any bodies business. I've recently become partial to tea, however the odd coffee (especially latte) is top notch.
6) I snapped this picture of all the delicious-looking desserts that Druckers had in their display. OMW, I would have loved to try a few of them, but decided to behave!
My Sunday was then spent at home with my husband and we decided to slob out. Such a great time just watching "car-crash" TV and planning our future! Some exciting new projects coming up...
I hope your weekend was just as great as mine! Have a wonderful monday...

My weekend in pictures
Monday, 3 September 2012
Hi lovelies!
Today is a bit of a blue monday for me, as it feels like summer is ebbing away faster than you can say go!
So really I wanted to cheer myself and everyone that reads my blog up with a healthy, fun way to clutch onto those last dregs of summer. So thus I've decided to give you a recipe for making your own ice pops.
Makes about 10 lollies
150g/2oz strawberries, hulled
3 egg yolks
75g/4oz caster sugar
a pinch of salt
150ml/5fl oz milk
100ml/31/2fl oz double cream
6 fresh mint leaves
finely grated zest of 1 large unwaxed lemon
150g/2oz strawberries, hulled
3 egg yolks
75g/4oz caster sugar
a pinch of salt
150ml/5fl oz milk
100ml/31/2fl oz double cream
6 fresh mint leaves
finely grated zest of 1 large unwaxed lemon
Slice half the strawberries very finely and arrange on the sides of 10 x 80ml ice pop moulds. Immediately freeze for 30 minutes. Finely chop the remaining strawberries and set aside.
Using an electric whisk, whisk the egg yolks, sugar and salt together in a bowl until creamy and the sugar has dissolved.
Place the milk, cream and mint leaves in a saucepan and gently heat (do not boil). Remove from the heat and leave to cool slightly, then stir in the egg mixture. Return to a low heat and cook for about 1 minute, stirring all the time, until slightly thickened.
Remove from the heat and stir in the chopped strawberries and lemon zest. Pour into the moulds and freeze for at least 6 hours.

You could even make ice cubes from these delicious little devils. Add cucumber, lemon, lime and all manner of fruits to your ice cube tray and pour it water for a refreshing take on your water.
Hope you enjoy!

Good afternoon you beautiful stars!
I'm so excited because I've had the most amazing weekend, filled with lots of fun. You see, on saturday night, my husband and myself went for an wonderful meal in Warwickshire to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. It's been a year filled with ups and downs, but it has gone faster than a speeding bullet!
I promised last friday to blog about my evening and what we ate, and I'm intending just to do that today. I'd like to apologize for the delay in posting today, it has been hectic because we are DIY'ing and getting our new cupboards built. It is just so exciting!
Pan roasted king scallops with black pudding, fennel and orange
puree and popcorn
Fillet of beef with blue cheese truffles, pickled red onions,
dandelion and burdoch gel, crispy potatoes
'Jimmy Butler Pork'
Pork tenderloin with chorizo, confit lemon, olives, feta and borlotti beans
Warm 70% dark chocolate, buttermilk choc ice and a cherry foam
'Jammie Dodger'
Raspberry and vanilla sponge with cornflake brittle and a tonka
bean ice cream
Check out Tailors Restaurant if you are ever in the area, they are great!
I had a wonderfully romantic evening and couldn't have asked for any more. My husband made loads of effort and it was sooo appreciated.
Tune in tomorrow for my first outfit of the day post!

Angelique
