Glamour Latest in Beauty Box

Friday, 7 June 2013

Beauties, this is the latest beauty box that is available for purchase if you are interested.  So far it is only available in the UK, and costs in the region of £14.95 including postage and packaging.  There are 9 products in this beauty so esentially you're getting an extra 4 products for about £4 compared to other beauty boxes that retail for about £12 (selling 4-5 products).

This is a great idea to try new products before you buy the larger sizes.  However, if you've notices there are atleast four full sized products.

The products in the box are:

JOHN FRIEDA FRIZZ- EASE ORIGINAL FORMULA

An iconic hair product if ever there was one- if you haven’t tried it yet, you’ll be blown away by the instant smoothness it gives your hair. And it feels so light, that it won’t make your hair oily- just super shiny, manageable and soft.

L’OREAL SUPER LINER GEL INTENZA GOLDEN

I love the look of liquid liner- it’s just so chic and glamorous. But I seriously can’t get it right and I’ve tried it a lot. This one- stroke genius is a blessing for klutzes like me, or anyone who wants to get the look without the hassle.

JINNYLASH NATURAL FALSE STRIP EYELASHES

Some fake eyelashes can look well, really fake, which is fine if you are into that. Personally I like my falsies to just gently enhance and plump my own lashes for a more natural feel. You want people to notice your eyes, not

BATISTE DRY SHAMPOO

Everyone- and I mean everyone - needs dry shampoo in their hair kit, whatever your hair-length or type. It’s the simplest sexy hair trick ever- it boosts root-flatness, adds tons of volume and extends the life of your blow-dry.

BENEFIT THE POREFESSIONAL

Who needs to ass another step to their makeup routine right? I am definitely not a fan of complicated makeup steps but if your pores bother you, this truly is magic. Even if you don’t wear foundation, apply a thin layer of this over your moisturiser and it will give the illusion of smooth, flawless skin.

REVLON NAIL ENAMEL

This is the most flattering coral ever- just the right mix of orange and pink to look great on all skin tones. It pops against dark and olive skins, yet doesn’t overwhelm paler skins. Great on toes to brighten up summer sandals, but I love it on short nails too.

GINVERA GREEN TEA EXFOLIATING MARVEL GEL

This is one of the best beauty discoveries I’ve made recently- and has totally transformed my skincare routine. It feels a bit jelly-like when you rub it over your skin, yet it literally hoovers out your pores and pulls out all the black- heads, blockages, makeup grime or whatever else got stuck in there. I am HOOKED and you will be too.

STILA LIP GLAZE

A super- pretty rosy pink with a hint of shimmer in Stila’s cultish portable, apply anywhere lip glaze pen. It will become your new go- to lip colour.

THE VINTAGE COSMETIC COMPANY TWEEZERS

I love these pretty and precise tweezers- they are sharp enough to pull out even the teeniest hairs and last forever.

This sounds like a great all-around beauty box filled with handy products.  I'd be very happy with just the Revlon Nail Polish, but the gel eyeliner is a great surprise too.

Enjoy your day x

I love shoes and heels, even if I can't really walk very well in them.  It is great to share a few of my favourite designer styles with you.

Here they are :-)

There is a little bit of everything here including blingy ones, really pretty colours and shoes with amazing details.

Share your favourites with me :-)

Nails Inc Concrete

Tuesday, 4 June 2013

Good morning girlies!

I'm loving the new nail trends that are constantly being updated at the moment.  It is so much fun to find new glitter nail polishes, velvet nails and all these crazy things the nail guru's are thinking of.

No nail polish brand has been so much at the forefront of "new" ideas as Nails Inc.  They are constantly updating their colour pallette's and coming up with completely unique and fashionable ideas to make your nails look ah-mazing!

As soon as I saw one of their products called 'Concrete Nails' I had to blog about it!

From left to right:  Momentum, Stonehenge, Marble Arch, London Wall.

The nail varnish applies and dries with a grainy, bumpy texture.

Despite what you may think the colour distributes evenly and applies like any other varnish, just when it dries it gives the feeling of Concrete.

The nail colours are bold and bright - perfect for the Spring/Summer and the nude/grey shade is perfect for right now.

I thought these varnishes would be similar to glitter ones - ie. an absolute nightmare to get off, but I was pleasantly surprised and it came off as easy as a normal colour would.
A simple nail art design that quick and easy to do.

Use yours in a more interesting way and paint only one finger, tips or a moon shape for something more adventurous.
The only downside really is you'll want to stroke your fingers all day.

You can get your mitts on these polishes at Boots, Nails Inc Online and QVC to name but a few.

They retail at £12 per bottle.

Hope you enjoy checking these out :-)

Blogger BFF's

Monday, 3 June 2013

Friendship-potential isn't exactly in fashion bloggers' job descriptions, of course. But I think about their redeeming qualities and speak about them like we're best buds (I promise I have real friends, too).

Think about it: you probably love/hate any waif who's strutting her stuff in Chanel/Alexander Wang/Proenza Schouler. But you love/love (or at I least do) any waif strutting around in said clothes who not only acknowledges her charmed life, but provides hilarious commentary. I prefer my fashion bloggers well-rounded too -- after all, what's a better match with fashion than recipes for adorable cupcakes and macarons? And don't get me started on the fashion bloggers who mix travel and fashion by adding exotic locales to any street style photo-shoot. Ah-mazing.

So, I present you with my favorite fashion bloggers -- the ones who not only post gorgeous images and outfits, but are people you'd actually want to be friends with. Don't get me wrong -- I'm not suggesting you start stalking these stylish gals and actually try to befriend them, but reading their blogs may give you some great fashion advice and a few laughs.

Your Jokester Friend

Who: Leandra Medine
Blog: The Man Repeller

She's the queen of wit, self-deprecating charm, and completely out-there catch phrases. Leandra is that cuckoo friend who flaunts her awkwardness and isn't afraid to make fun of anything, including herself. She's silly and edgy -- she makes wisecracks about the fashion world, but parades in the best designer duds. Leandra's absurd style, funny faces, and general hilarity make her my number one. Plus the whole concept of "man repeller" gives me a feminist thrill.

Your Boho-Cool Friend

Who: Julie Sarinana
Blog: Sincerely, Jules

Julie's a creative and cool gal with an effortless style we all want to copy. She's that laid back California friend who teaches you to go with the flow -- fashion-wise and life-wise. Her posts are bright and sunny, and her mix of relaxed, boyish clothes with glitzy designer pieces is accessible and fun. Bonus cool points: Her Instagram is always spot-on.

Your Hostess Friend

Who: Emily Schuman
Blog: Cupcakes and Cashmere

I imagine Emily as the best friend you can always confide in -- the bestie who's sensible, supportive, and super upbeat. She's like a hybrid of Charlotte from SATC, Martha Stewart, and Lauren Conrad -- and she's always hosting dinner parties. Her ladylike, elegant fashion sense is a treat to look at, but I'm even more obsessed with her baking endeavors, incredible DIY manicures, and "Five Things" favorites.

Your Worldly Friend

Who: Jessica Stein
Blog: Tuula

Jessica's "personal diary of wanderlust and an overflowing wardrobe" is filled with snapshots and stories of her world travels. The impeccably dressed Australian gal is enthusiastic, free-spirited, and loves life (aka she isn't your typical fashion snob). I love her gorgeous prose and pics -- she's like that knowledgeable and adventurous friend who feeds you fashion with a side of culture.

Your Stylish Sister Friends

Who: Janelle and Jessica Lloyd
Blog: Girls Off Fifth

The self-described "sisters, style bloggers, brunch enthusiasts" are a fun-loving duo. I love that their blog is a pout-free zone; in every picture they're seemingly laughing at some hilarious joke. The sisters' fashion advice is witty and keeps things sweet and simple. Even better, they're down-to-earth shoppers -- they've got an eye for pieces that look way more expensive than their actual price.

Your Prepster Friend

Who: Bradley Agather
Blog: Luella & June

Bradley's the preppy Southern belle who gives great advice. She not only pieces together designer outfits with clean lines and breezy style -- she also divulges the best online sales of the week. Her ensemble advice, fashion icon inspirations, and newsy "weekend perusals" are incredibly useful. She's polished, pretty, and organized -- definitely your go-to dependable friend.

Hope you guys enjoy these blogs just as much as I've been doing!  I'm also really sorry for the later post than normal but I've been having some issues with my internet connection.  Hopefully fingers crossed there will be no further problems.  Hope you had a wonderful first working day at work for June and that it's been a relaxing one.

Keep well,
