It is with great pleasure that I announce to the world that the London 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony will take place this evening at around 21:00 GMT. If you don't know about the Olympics, where have you been?
This has been a moment that the United Kingdom has waited for, for over 7 years! We have ofcourse started celebrating earlier than today, with certain of the football (or soccer to some) matches having started a few days earlier. 7 million tickets have been sold, and now we just sit here with breaths bated to see what the opening ceremony will be like in just a few hours.

Don't forget that Big Ben will chime 42 times today during 8:12 and 8:15am local time. It is to signify the opening day of the official 2012 Olympic Games. And what an honour!
But that brings me onto another subject: Which sporting hero will bring the Olympic Flame into the stadium at the opening ceremony? Will it be David Beckham, Muhammed Ali or Sir Steve Redgrave? Whomever they choose will surely be very deserving of the great honour!

So with all that being said, it is definitely going to be a night of shunning the cinema or the pub, and rather getting a Chinese takeaway to eat infront of the television. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and one that Great Britian will not forget any time soon!
With every town and city having adorned their buildings and gardens with Olympic Rings and decorations to show solidarity during this amazing time, it surely shows how proud we are at this time!

Enjoy every moment, and be proud of your country when they compete!
Salute,
Angelique :-)
