My Flash Trash

Wednesday, 7 August 2013

Good morning to all my home girls,

Today I'm talking 'flash trash' which sounds kind of crazy and cool all at the same time.  Recently there has been a huge LEAP in friendship bracelets, colourful neon necklaces and crazy kooky earrings.  So that obviously has meant that lots of new jewellery businesses have sprung up.

So with that came My Flash Trash.  Flash Trash was founded by Hong Kong raised British entrepreneur Amber Atherton. Having studied Fashion Management at London College of Fashion Amber went on to work at Vogue, Hermes and The Saturday Group whilst still developing Flash Trash. Regularly seen on the pages of international fashion magazines and applauded for her style Amber's fame has rocketed since appearing in the hit UK TV show Made in Chelsea. Amber who has modeled since childhood has received various awards and nominations for her contribution to young female enterprise, and was most recently named the 5th most influential person on Vogue's 2012 Digital Power List. Here are some items to look at:

I'm in LOVE with neon and all the amazing colours that are available in these collections.  I'm definitely going to get myself a few bracelets and pretty little things.

What do you think?  Love or loathe?

Cute bracelets and neon bracelets

My new hair colour: Ombre vs Colour?

Friday, 12 July 2013

Hi guys and girls,

I'm sorry for a slightly later than average posting but I've been ever so busy SHOPPING!  Haha, I hit my local Primark store like a whirlwind.  For those that have never heard of Primark, it is a very cheaply priced clothing store.  I stocked up on new undies and bits and bobs that I really needed.  I was so surprised how amazingly priced most items were.  I love it when things that I need doesn't cost the earth.

I've been thinking about my hair lately, as I'm off to get a new hair cut again at the end of the month and I'd like to colour my hair at the same time.  I've currently got a beautiful vivid red/burgundy colour on my hair and it looks fantastic in the sun, but I'd like something lighter for summer time.

I'd like to keep the top fairly dark or in the medium brown ranges....but the bottom I'd like to change up.  So really I'd just like to share some of my favourite styles/colours and would like to urge you ladies to let me know which you think will work...

I'd also like to share my NEW Twitter account that is linked to this blog! Please follow me on Google Plus by clicking on the link in the top right hand or follow me on Twitter @sexyatmidnight.  Facebook is still under construction hehe!

Have a hair-tastic day!

Make-up Trend: Brighten up!

Wednesday, 3 July 2013

Good morning ladies,

After a few minimalist seasons, the beauty world has again gone crazy for colour. And I say YAY to that. This summer is all about fun, experimental looks so go wild with colour and texture - anything goes. There is one rule though - keep it dramatic!

I've compiled some of my favourite celebrity looks to inspire you to get creative with your eye make-up this season.

Jessie J
A bold blue eyeliner adds drama and impact to brown eye shadow. Try lining your lower lash line with a dark shade.
Nicole Richie
Add a sweep of glittery baby-blue eye shadow to the upper lid to really make your eyes pop.

A*M*E
Bright pastel shades look amazing with a sweep of gold.

Kristen Stewart
Highlight green eyes with an aubergine metallic shade swept to the brow bone and on the lower lash line.

Ginnifer Goodwin
OOOh I love this look. Try a baked multi-shade eye shadow containing a mixture of bronze and blue or apply the bronze first and blend with a dab of blue on the centre of the upper lash line.

Taylor Swift
Max out a classic bronze shadow and black eyeliner combo with a dramatic sweep of turquoise liner on the bottom lash line. It makes for a beautiful contrast.

Emily Blunt
Chuck out the rule book and try a fluorescent pink sweep on the upper lid.

Hayley Williams
Bold orange shades look amazing at night time, try a bold line on the top lid.

And those are my picks so all that is left to say is:  EXPERIMENT! Enjoy the bright statement make-up that is out right now, because eventually we'll go back to neutrals.

Bright rainbow happiness,
